Wow! Where did the month of September go? It was a great month and we can only wish the modest weather conditions will stay with us for the upcoming Ryder Cup with Toppenish. This popular contest between BRC and Toppenish will be held on October 22nd and 23rd. Last year, BRC and Toppenish finished tied after two days of competition only to see BRC lose the event on the first play-off hole. With the loss, we left the ‘Cup’ in Toppenish. With the win, Toppenish will host opening day on Saturday. On Sunday, BRC will have the hammer at home! Captain Sean Tudor is excited about his team and their chances. Please come out to support our 20 man team and their efforts for our golf course. Pride Baby! Pride!
On the golf course, certain dead trees around the course are red flagged for removal and Balbino would like some help from members in his effort to keep our course vibrant and healthy. Balbino and his crew will be cutting these trees down on the 14th and picking up the remains on the 15th. If you can help, please leave name in Pro Shop.
On Sunday, October 16th, the BRC Course Improvement Tournament will be held. This is a 4 Person Scramble with a 10 AM shotgun start. The cost is $200 per team or $50 per player. Entry forms are on the wall and in the Pro Shop. The proceeds from this tournament will go towards the supplies to repair the cart bridge between 12 and 17.
The Prosser Men’s Club season is winding down. Their final outing for 2016 is set for October 10th which happens to be Columbus Day. After completion of play, a dinner and awards ceremony is planned. For more information, please call Dave Wilson or Keith Sattler.
Walking off with top point honors for the month in Max’s Group was Keith Ward. Keith finished with a positive number of 9.38. Outlook’s Don Johnson was just off the pace with 8.18 while Les Schreiber edged Wally Flores for 3rd. The starting time for Max’s Group is now 9 AM.
The Weekend Crew has a battle going on in their ‘Birdie Challenge’ with Big John Bright needing only to birdie number 2 to win the pot of gold. At least three other golfers are within striking distance but time is winding down on the challengers. It is also important to note that start time for the Weekend Crew is now 9 AM.
Finally, please mark this date down on your calendars. Our Golf Professional, Scott Galbraith has released his annual prediction for snow. Our ground hog has predicted snow falling on the 19th of November. He is very clear that the snow will not last.
